European Elections – will you use your vote?

Many habitants of today’s European Union can still remember times where they couldn’t vote in free, fair, independent and secret elections. My grandparents for most of their lives didn’t have this opportunity, my parents for part of theirs. People fought for freedom of speech, some lost their lives, some were imprisoned. Democracy gives us the right to decide about the shape of the world around us. Not only we can vote in national elections in our country but we can decide in what direction the whole of Europe will go. Isn’t it amazing?

From the moment my generation got to voting age some decided not to vote. Maybe they can’t be bothered, maybe don’t realize how important it is.

It takes couple of minutes to vote, it takes a few minutes to walk to a polling station.
